The Colorado Anglican SocietyThe Rt. Rev. Alexander Maury (Sandy) Greene is Bishop of many churches in the Rocky Mountian AMiA Network, including Resurrection. Before becoming a bishop in the Anglican Mission, Sandy served five years as Rector of Christ Episcopal Church. Before coming to Denver he was rector of St. Andrew's-by-the-Sea, Destin, Florida. Sandy's passion in the ministry has been the raising up and mentoring of clergy and lay leaders. He is a graduate of Yale University and the General Theological Seminary. Moreover, he has experienced a lifetime of training in ministry and congregational leadership from a number of clergy and many gifted lay folk in parishes that he has served. Bishop Sandy travels extensively overseeing churches in Phoenix, Chicago, Florida, Wyoming, and Puerto Rico, as well as here in the Rocky Mountain Network . Much is happening and Bishop Sandy is running the race with perserverance - actually trying to keep up with God - as he works diligently among us and all the places he has charge over. We love him and urge your prayers for him each day!

Our Strategies
We recognize that our mission statement indicates what our primary strategy will be. It involves three concerns revolving around leaders...
We are going to equip, support and unite disciple-making leaders.
Within this overarching concern, we outlined various ways in which we will seek to accomplish these three objectives. (These are long-range goals--they will be implemented as we are able to do them with God's help.)
To address all three concerns we would like to provide...
--Monthly Monday Meetings with a
Leadership Training Component (Led by an outside consultant if possible)
Worship and Prayer Component (For supporting, training, and uniting leaders)
Fellowship Component (Share needs/concerns/testimonies and pray for one another)
Vision Component (Share the overarching vision for the network on an ongoing basis)
--Yearly Clergy Retreat
Bring together clergy and their spouses for a weekend of worship, prayer, study, and
fellowship. Great opportunity to connect with our bishop(s) as well.
To focus on the concern of equipping leaders we would like to provide...
--Yearly or Bi-yearly Network Conferences
with teaching on a wide variety of topics to equip lay leaders in diverse areas of
ministry over the course of a week/weekend.
--Training resources for distant churches.
Videos or personal visits that bring training resources within reach of those
who live far from the Front Range corridor.
--A Coaching/Mentoring List
A list of people who are willing and able to provide guidance on matters
related to pastoral leadership.
--A Training Resource List
A list of training resources (videos, people, etc.) that churches are willing to
share with other churches on a "loaner" basis.
To focus on the concern of supporting leaders we would like to provide...
--Needs Assessment and Resourcing Opportunities
Individuals/team that would come to a church to discuss/diagnose needs within the
church and seek out ways to meet those needs.
--A "Jethro Network"
Connect each clergy member in the Network to a pastoral care giver who would pray
for, check in on, and discuss the personal needs/concerns of the clergy member.
--Legal/Administrative Resources
Create a list of persons and videos that churches can share that address the specific
legal and administrative needs that a church faces.
--Sabbatical/Vacation Resources
Supplying churches with clergy to perform ministry functions when the rector needs a
vacation (perhaps also helping with financial needs in this respect as well).
--A Bridge to the Bishop(s)
Helping facilitate bishops visits to local churches
In focus on the concern of uniting leaders we would like to provide...
--A clear leadership structure
This will enable us to all move forward together with a clear sense of expectations
and responsibilities.
--Local Strategy Sessions
Encourage churches in close proximity to cooperate together for common purposes.
Organize quarterly meetings where local priorities and needs can be discussed and
addressed.
--Network Calendar
Communicate upcoming events that affect the network as a whole, including the
bishop's schedule.
--Web Page
Communicate the unique concerns, vision, and ministry opportunities taking place in
our network via the web.
--Contact Information Sheet
Regularly update the best ways to contact all clergy members/church staff within our churches.
Our Leadership Structure
We recognized that fulfilling these strategies will require a variety of leadership responsibilities. We decided that we want to recognize the individuals God has annointed for leadership roles and then form their positions around their giftings in relation to our needs (rather than identifying roles and then finding people to fill them). In other words, we will find the right people and then identify their position/role rather than creating positions and then trying to find the right people to fill them.
The leadership needs that will inform us as we seek the right people are these (in other words, we need a team that can fulfill the following functions):
Our Bishop: The Rt. Rev. Sandy Greene
Network Team Leader: The Rev. Gerry Schnackenberg
Leadership Development
& Credentialling: The Rev. Dr. Bob Grant Mission Strategy: The Rev. Rob Paris
