Yes! We believe that it actually happened! We believe that there is no where on earth that you can find the bones of Jesus Christ of Nazareth! Why? Because he is risen! He is no longer dead! He didn't faint; he wasn't stolen in the night; they didn't forget where he was buried; HE ROSE FROM THE DEAD! And that means something ? something eternal, for you and for me. It means that we've got a choice to make: Bow now... or bow later!
God has extended His hand to humanity in the person, the real flesh and blood of His one and only Son, Jesus Christ. He is our ONLY WAY back to a relationship with a real and living God, who loves us so much that He sent His only Son to a death on the cross (its not just a decoration, Virginia!) to make a way for us to come back to a life-transforming relationship with the living God of the Universe!
The Lord is Risen! He is Risen, Indeed! Alleluia!
We believe that the history of this little movement started by Jesus means something and that we should live and order our lives in connection with the 2000+ year history of the Church of Jesus Christ: What has been believed by all men, at all times and in all places. That is how we define what is "essential believing." Connection with historical Christianity is not something we are ashamed of. We have roots in a rootless society! We have a home amidst the spiritually homeless!!
Our Anglican heritage is not something we flaunt, but rather we invite people to a depth of worship that can't be found anywhere else! We have it all! Our heritage of worship honors and brings the three great streams of historic Christianity together into one great river of worship as we Encounter God through:
Word:
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, living and active! It is true and reliable; it is the rule for our life, individually and corporately; and contains all things necessary for our life and godliness. It forms us, inwardly and outwardly. We encourage its daily use for devotional study, personal growth and as the means to a healthy and vital relationship with its Author, the Living God!
Sacrament:
We worship in the traditions of the historic church catholic (that means universal). We use outward and visible means to signify the inward and spiritual grace of the Living God. Water, wine, bread, oil, kneeling, standing, raising hands, bowing down - our worship involves our whole body, mind and spirit. It involves color and pageantry, songs old and new, prayers and praise!
Spirit:
The Holy Spirit is a real person! He's not just a warm fuzzy feeling or even a guilty feeling when we do wrong. He is the motive power, the engine in our car! We believe that God, the Holy Spirit is active in our lives and worship today. He knows every detail of your life and wants to come along side you to help, to heal, to guide, to give meaning and purpose to your life!
WORD | SACRAMENT | SPIRIT
Three Streams – One River !!
We believe that we are called TOGETHER. The greek word for fellowship is KOINONIA (co-ee-no-nee-a) and it means LIFE TOGETHER. Common life is the place where God is active! Common life is the place where we can all find a home, a place to belong! Common life is where God uses common people, like you and me. The word "Church" has got so much baggage today: buildings, meetings, aloof clubishness, and dead tradition. We are all about Invitation -Multiplication - Passionate Prayer - Authenticity - Committed Community and Transformation. For us that spells IMPACT! Where we have Contact we want to have IMPACT: on individual lives, on our neighborhoods, our workplaces, our city and our nation. Fellowship isn't about us and our club, its about being called by God as a people; as His people, to be in relationship with Him and with each other . . . to be ONE, so that the whole world may know that Jesus is alive and the Father has sent Him to reconcile the world to Himself.
Resurrection... Anglican... Fellowship!
We invite you to live your life on purpose!! God's Purpose !! This life sets the stage for eternity. Won't you come and walk with us toward that destination?
If the answer is yes.. or even "maybe," I urge you to email me with any questions you may have - about Jesus, about life, about REZ, about whatever! We want to bring you and Jesus together; Jesus is here! Nothing else is required - just you!
God Bless you!
